Renault KWID: The New Baby Duster

If you’re looking to buy a new four-wheeler in the coming weeks, you should take a look at the upcoming Renault KWID. Renault KWID is said to be the “Baby” Duster as it resembles the Renault Duster in every aspect.

Renault KWID is manufactured in Renault’s Chennai plant and is said to be a team work of Japanese, French and Indian engineers. Renault KWID‘s 97 percent parts are manufactured locally, which surely will benefit the end user in terms of the pricing and parts availability for this vehicle. Renault KWID will be priced at Rs.4 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be launched in 2 variants: Renault KWID AMT Automatic sporting a 800 cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine and Renault KWID 1000 which comes with a 1000cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine with manual transmission. The exact date of launch is still not known, however it’s speculated to go on sale this Diwali as every car manufacturer would like to cash in the festive season.

In terms of competition in the market Renault KWID has Hyundai Eon, Maruti Alto K10, Chevrolet Beat and Datsun Go to compete with. Based on the pricing and looks of this vehicle it looks like it will charm the masses, but it all depends on the build quality, after sales and spares availability to keep this vehicle on the top desired vehicles list.
