Though the poem was written more than a few decades ago by the ever famous Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, it still manages to tug at our heart strings every time we hear it.
Vande Mataram literally translated as “I pray/bow to thee mother”, sings praises and offers devotion to our Mother Land- India. Is it any wonder then, why the poem later composed into a song became the “National Song” of India?
Over the years there have been various artists putting forward their heart rending performances on “Vande Mataram”, and here is the latest one by the Voice India Kids wishing everyone on Independence Day with their brilliant take on the song.
Happy Independence Day everyone!
