António Luís dos Santos da Costa, is a Portuguese nationality of Goan descent. Born in Lisbon on July 17 in 1961 to writer parents Orlando da Costa (Goan) and Maria Antónia Palla (French/Portuguese). He is a lawyer and politician who was Mayor of Lisbon from 2007 to 2015. He was elected as Secretary-General of the Socialist Party in September 2014.In 1987, Costa married Fernanda Maria Gonçalves Tadeu, a teacher; the couple have a son Pedro Miguel Tadeu da Costa and a daughter Catarina Tadeu da Costa.
Back in Goa Costa has his 150-year-old ancestral house on Rua Abade Faria, in the heart of Margao.
