Goa’s First Bird Festival starts tomorrow
The much awaited and Goa’s first Bird festival of Goa will be held tomorrow, from 11th to 13th of November,2016.
Goa is blessed with a rich bio-diversity, a combination of coastal, wetlands and forest making it a favorable for Bird species to nestle in these areas. It is said that India is home to around 1224 bird species out of which around 432 spotted in Goa.
Having such high numbers is indeed a blessing, and what great way to celebrated the uniqueness. The main venue of the bird festival shall be Bondla and the participants will be taken for nature/bird watching trails in Bondla and Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary. Along with bird spotting visit to Carambolim and Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, Chorao.
Understanding the bird species and the bio-diversity will be a big boost to bird tourism in our state.
Goa’s state bird, the Bulbul, has been chosen as the logo for the festival.
