Happy Teacher’s Day!!
In case you were on google’s home page today, you would have noticed their new doodle in celebration of Teacher’s Day. Seeing it, I couldn’t help but go back down memory’s lane and remember my school days. Even though it’s been more than a decade since I last sat in school class room, I remember those days like it was yesterday! Besides all the fun, mischief and pranks with my classmates, I realized my teachers too played an important role in making my school days memorable and in shaping my life.
I will not forget how through their individual styles, they managed to teach me much more than what the text books had to offer. Important lessons in life like honesty, discipline, perseverance, hard work and efficiency start at home but are built on in school. I will never forget my KG class teacher who thought me kindness, my 5th grade English teacher who told me to pursue my love for writing, my 7th grade Maths teacher (whom I hated at that time) who taught me to never give up (not just in solving the math problems ;)) , my 8th grade Biology teacher who taught me elegance to be more lady like…and I could go on and on!
Teaching is definitely not an easy job, and not one everyone can undertake. I tried my hands on Sunday school teaching for a bit and had to give it up because I just couldn’t take it! It requires tremendous hard work, physical as well as emotional strength to invest into a single child ( so imagine having 40-50 kids) and above all patience.
So, on this Teacher’s day, I would like to wish all my teachers and every teacher out there (just like at the end of each class) a reverberating “Thank you Teacher!!”
I would like to share a video I found online that speaks my mind perfectly… Enjoy!
