A stop by the NH17- The Station Restaurant
You might not find yourself at an actual railway station but you’ll feel pretty much like you are already there.
Situated on the NH17 highway near Carmel college, Nuvem the place has something different to offer. The restaurant can be mistaken to somebody’s Goan house. Reached through a long walkway past the normal Goan house garden, the actual restaurant is inside a quintessential traditional Goan house. Mr. Colaco the owner has something different to offer for sure.
As the name suggest, it gives you a feel of being on a railway station. The restaurant offers comfortable and real train compartment seating and the decor has a retro vintage influence. Paintings depicting old steam locomotives definitely add an old-world charm to the overall setting. Loved the little train artifacts kept on display and the actual compartment seating.
The warm surroundings and a welcoming Goan atmosphere makes The Station Restaurant even more interesting, as are its food and drinks.
The Menu boast a mix continental comfort food, to the classic standard Burgers, sandwich and the Mexican delights. You get a array of palatable flavors and sauces, both spicy and mild. Not forgetting the all time Goan favorite, Pork Chilly Fry taking it’s place at the appetizers. And definitely making way on our table, only wished it had more of pork with some extra charge levied.
The food was simply delicious and we couldn’t wait to attack, left with no clicks but a happy tummy. Exception for the Surf & Turf and the Outrageous Chocolate Brownie Sundae who survived a few seconds click before we relished it.
The guy (oopsie I forgot his name) serving our table was more than pleased to show us the restaurant around and his appreciable service, made it a pleasant dining evening.
The ambience both inside and out — is charming, vibes just perfect for spending quality time with people you love to hang around with.
