I bought my two dachshunds four years ago and they are called Jack and Jill. The female ,Jill tops the scales at only 14 lbs and the male is 18 lbs. Someone elses bad luck was my luck as the last owners dies three years ago about a year apart. I had no intention of breeding these dogs.Ive had 3 litters so far .I think the pups are the coolest puppies Ive ever seen. . I was really pitiful being away when Jill had her 1st litter. . She amazed me a little bit by the speed at which she had the pupss. We found more pups behind the toilet,one was still in the sack and not breathing.

Jill was frighted of the dachshund puppies . I had to lay her down and put the dog on her to suckle . WIthin 2 hours Jill was feeding her little chap as if nothing had ever happened. We were fairly sure that there were no more puppies veiled from the rest of the litter.

Later that evening we went up stairs to bed. . We took Jill and her baby dachsund up with us so we could keep an eye on them. . Once they were both happy lying down in their box my husband turned off the light. . As he was hitting the switch he heard a pup wailing .

He opened up the door and followed the sound to the bed room across the hall. . Much to his surprise he came across another newborn puppy lying in the bed. She was stripping it. Jade is an 88 lb sheep dog so to say my husband was surprised would be something of an irony.

Jade had to have an operation when younger so was never able to have a dachshund . She does however produce milk when Jill has puppies . Jill is only too happy to permit Jade feast her new litter when they arrive into the world. They lay with her all the time. Jill couldnt concern at all as she knows the puppys are in really good hands with Jade. They all nap in one big bed together Jade Jill and Skippy and they are thrilled to bits with themselves .

Every miniature dachshund seems inundated with people looking after them. . They plunge themselves from a great distance onto poor old Jade yet she likes it . She just lays there waggling her tail or fiddles with them. The puppys throw themselves at Jade and she jumps back.I dont understand how she does it but none of the pups have ever been injured.
